ODC SCHOOL AUDITION SERIES PUSH DANCE COMPANY The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $12 drop in fee. Please come early to fill out information forms and bring your resume, if you have one.

Push Dance Company ("Push"), 5th Anniversary ODC Commons June 18-19 and Joyce SoHo tour to New York July 24-25, will be holding open auditions for both its home season and touring:
• Restaging/tour of programming (mixed rep) • New work involving chamber hip-hop opera (making and touring)
Push is looking for both female and male experienced modern dancers who possess strong creativity, sense of fun, reliability, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Performance pay is available.
Please note that audition starts promptly at 3pm and latecomers will not be admitted. More information at pushdance.org or info@pushdance.org.
About Push PUSH DANCE COMPANY has embraced new media and technology to express its cross-cultural perspectives. Under the direction of Raissa Simpson, the company dares to work with visual artists alongside pyrotechnic dancing, community projects & touring to critical-acclaim. Push has distinguished itself through its dedication to athleticism- bringing “Art to the People”. Recently the company toured & performed at the Washington Ensemble Theater (Seattle), Laney College (Oakland), 418 Project (Santa Cruz), Dance Mission Theater (SF), Cowell Theater (SF), ODC Commons Theater (SF), MoAD SF- Museum of African Diaspora & San Jose State University where, the company was awarded the “Peoples Choice” award honor.
RAISSA SIMPSON (Artistic Director/ Visual Design) is a native of Cleveland-- raised in San Jose, California-- hailed by Dance Spirit Magazine for “Reflective Contemporary Choreography”, Simpson makes vibrant dances embodying socially relevant issues. In 2009, she created Mixed Message with community partner 3rd St Youth Center & Clinic and media artist Marlon Sagana Ingram through the San Francisco Arts Commission Arts & Communities: Innovative Partnerships. She has toured and performed as a company member with Robert Moses Kin (2002-2007) and Joanna Haigood’s Zaccho Dance Theatre (2007-Present). She has performed in numerous national festivals including, Jacob’s Pillow where Village Voice dance critic Deborah Jowitt noted, “Simpson dances big.”
