Salve Regina University, located in Newport, RI (approximately 45 minutes south of Providence, RI), is looking to hire a guest choreographer for the 2010-2011 academic year. Rehearsal times are flexible and will begin in late September; choreography should be finished, or near finished, by the end of the fall semester for a spring dance concert. Pay is $1000 and there is no additional compensation for travel.
The ideal candidate will set an original modern, jazz, or contemporary piece on three to eight dancers; the length should be between 8 and 12 minutes. This candidate should plan to rehearse once a week in a two or three hour time slot.
