Kalamandir Dance Company (501c3 Non-Profit) is a contemporary Indian ensemble in New Jersey that is creating a new language by breaking the boundaries of classical Indian Dance. Our movement vocabulary creates a reachable area for all people to participate and communicate. Instead of diminishing the foundation of our art, we look to investigate its potential. We are devoted to art for art's sake, and are driven by creativity, human emotions, and a desire to be released from the ordinary.
Kalamandir Dance Company is looking for experienced dancers trained in any style of dance, interested in learning the dances of India. Seeking dancers comfortable with improvisation, partnering, and working collectively. Dancers also need to be comfortable working outside of the studio for site specific projects. No pay, but great exposure and experience. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 12-4 pm in Kendall Park, New Jersey. Other rehearsals as necessary near performance dates.
